The SFFS Masterclass Series continued on April 9, 2025, with an inspiring and deeply engaging session featuring Academy Award-nominated documentary filmmaker Nisha Pahuja. The event, held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM PT, drew a strong turnout of students, faculty, and staff eager to learn from one of the most influential voices in contemporary nonfiction storytelling.
Nisha Pahuja, known for her powerful films including To Kill a Tiger (Oscar-nominated), The World Before Her (Emmy-nominated), Bollywood Bound, and the three-part series Diamond Road, spoke candidly about her filmmaking journey, creative process, and the challenges of tackling complex social issues through documentary cinema.
Moderated by Advanced Directing instructor Pietro Pinto, the session offered students an opportunity to ask thoughtful questions and engage in meaningful dialogue. Attendees left the masterclass inspired and better equipped to explore storytelling with intention and purpose.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Nisha Pahuja for sharing her time, experience, and wisdom with the SFFS community.
