The SFFS Masterclass Series hosted the fall session with Joe Johnston, the renowned filmmaker behind iconic films such as Jurassic Park III (2001), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), and Jumanji (1995). The event, which took place on November 13, 2024, offered an exclusive opportunity for SFFS students to gain insights into Joe’s extensive career in the film industry.

During the masterclass, Joe shared stories from his journey both as a director and visual effects artist, offering a deep dive into his creative process and the challenges of bringing compelling stories to the big screen. He discussed his work across various genres, from action & adventure to science fiction. He also highlighted the evolution of his filmmaking techniques and the influences in visual effects.
