FilmSchoolSF’s reputation as a top source to find professional film and production help continues to build in the Bay Area. Our students and alumni are racking up successful film, commercial and music video experiences and are making themselves known in San Francisco and beyond.

A couple months ago, we received a call from the talented Oakland director/producer, Joslyn Rose Lyons, who was looking for smart and proven production help on a music video for the R&B trio, Idle Warship. The group features music industry heavyweights Talib Kweli, Res and Graph Nobel.

SFSDF was able to place two alumni working on the video – Stephanie Yang (Class Seven) as Gaffer and Bucky Knaebel (Class Eight) as 2nd AC.

“I never thought I would be working on a music video for someone like Talib Kweli/Idle Warship within weeks of graduating. SFSDF not only got me there but taught me what I’d need to know to be comfortable walking on to the set,” said Knaebel.

“It’s great to be able to place people on professional shoots – with confidence. I know that they’ll do great work and be able to handle themselves on any stressful set, said Stephen Kopels,” Director of Eduction, SFSDF.
